Federal Donuts is closed for maintenance in Pennsport, to reopen in late August
The (original) Federal Donuts in Pennsport will be temporarily closed at least until Aug. 25 to take care of some maintenance issues.
Federal Donuts, located at 1219 S. 2nd Street (Manton Street), told us that the “shop needs some love” and that they’ll be back with new flavors after the repairs and deep cleaning are completed. They didn’t say exactly what needed to be repaired, but the promise of new flavors is an exciting proposition.
Sorry foodies and donut lovers, they didn’t drop any hints as to what new flavors are on the way. “Can’t do it,” was their only reply. As per their twitter feed, it looks like their three other locations (Rittenhouse, University City, Fairmount and the Ballpark) will be picking up the slack.
FedNuts South Philly is closed for cleaning & maintenance; will re-open with NEW donuts after 8/25. All other stores are taking care of biz

While we don’t like dropping bad news like this on you, especially given the weather, we do this because we care. We wan’t everyone to avoid and learn from the experience of the poor fella:
