And the winning organization for the $500 is…
Friends of Jackson Elementary!
Congratulations to the friends group, which took in about 200 more votes than Neighbors Investing in Childs Elementary out of more than 12,000 votes cast.
We reached out to the group this morning to find out what they intend to put the money toward, but haven’t heard back yet.
Of course, this largesse comes via HughE Dillon of Philly Chit Chat, who we bet $500 earlier this year about whether a Wegman’s was coming to Bart Blatstein’s proposed development at Broad and Washington. It’s not.
And though Jackson took home the prize, please don’t forget about the other worthy groups that were in the running: Neighbors Investing in Childs Elementary, South Philly Food Co-op, Lower Moyamensing Civic Association and East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association.
Yeah, right into Nutters pocket!
No way! Friends of Jackson is a 501(c)3 so it’s going right into the school and students, where it should!
Don’t worry.. That wasn’t a real post. Some idiot that gets frustrated when I pick him apart in debates we have on these message boards is just needs to depict me as something I’m not.
I’m a big fan of improving and fully funding our schools. I’m glad about the outcome.
I like Nutter.. Keep posting fake messages.
You have no life.
Lets not forget that $500 won’t even cover lunch for the deadbeats punching a card.
