First Pics: New vegetarian restaurant now open on West Passyunk Avenue
Earlier this week, a new vegetarian restaurant called Panda Cafe opened at 1608 W. Passyunk Ave., adding to the growing list of new businesses opening in West Passyunk.
While Panda Cafe specializes in vegetarian dishes and teas, they also have a variety of other options that could appeal to a wider audience.
Panda Cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. Breakfast options include a western omelette, french toast and eggs, served with ham, sausage or bacon. Lunch and dinner options include tofu dishes, spring rolls, eggplant parmesan, wraps and more. They also have a specialty menu that includes things like Indonesian-style salads, pork and chicken rice soups and more.
For drinks, there are a variety of smoothie and iced tea options. Panda Cafe also serves hot and iced coffees, in addition to frappuccinos. There is also a specialty drink menu that includes things like lemonade honeydew, ice green bean drinks and more.
Panda Cafe is open seven days a week. From Sunday through Thursday their hours are from 11 a.m. to midnight, and from Friday through Sunday they are open from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. You can check out Panda Cafe’s menu here.
I AM VERY CONFUSED BY THIS PANDA IS NOT A VEGETABLE SO WHY IS THIS A VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT PANDAS ARE ANIMALS VERY DISSAPOINTED GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT
Not enough misspellings; sorry. This comment brought to you by too much caffeine.
Wait, what? The majority of the dishes on the menu seem to have meat on them. Or is it like those weird I cult restaurants where it’s all imitation meats?
They’re advertising themselves as a restaurant specializing in vegetarian dishes, but there are definitely a good amount of items with meat in them. As far as I know, it’s not imitation meat either.
It’s mock meat; I confirmed it with the owner. No shrimp paste in the Indonesian dishes either. The restaurant is fully lacto-ovo vegetarian.
Totally fine on the mix of dishes but I really want to help them fix “Refresh & Delicious” as a tagline. It would help.
