Pooka’s Hookah & BYOB Lounge closing at the end of the year
The purple storefront that has been home to Pooka’s Hookah & BYOB Lounge and the previous incarnation of the shop, Eclectic Expressionism, will soon be empty.
Owner Nicola Vittoria is calling it quits at 1507 E. Passyunk Ave., with “everything goes” signs on the storefront.
The shop first opened here in 2013 as Eclectic Expressionism, before being converted into a hookah lounge spot in 2014. If you’re interested in picking up a hookah for cheap, now appears to be your chance. Most items in the store are currently 50% off. Everything is cash-only.
CLOSING SALE EVERY WEEKEND. FRIDAY & SATURDAY & SUNDAY FROM 4:00 TO 9:00PM TILL THE END OF THE YEAR.’EVERYTHING MUST GO’…

Vittoria has no plans to open elsewhere, so those “everything goes” signs are serious. The shop is expected to close by January 1.
I walk by this place nearly every day and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it open. Maybe POPE can continue to expand into this space!
Completely agree with Steve on them never being open. I am disappointed that they’re closing. Whatever moves into the space will likely be less interesting. Whenever I saw the wooden “BYOB”, I always wondered why I would go there with a bottle of wine. It looks more like a strange hippie headshop than a lounge…
Rats… now where do I have to go to get a sweet skull-bong??
Is it going to become a handjob massage parlor again?
