Upscale seafood takeout coming to 3rd and Snyder

The corner property at 2101 S. 3rd St. has remained as a pizza spot for some time now. There was Poblano Pizza, followed by a short-lived Mexican and pizza combo that lasted no more than a few months here.

Now finally a restaurant without pizza as the main focus will be opening in this location. Neon Lobster, an upscale seafood takeout spot, is expected to open in the new year.

According to their Facebook page, their focus is on gourmet take-out seafood with high quality and low prices. Expect daily specials, a Sunday dinner and more. We don’t know specifics on their menu just yet, but it seems like a good change of pace for this corner. While these photos don’t give a complete look at the restaurant, it does appear to be quite an improvement from the green and red color combo from the previous tenants of the building.

According to a neighborhood tipster, this restaurant is aiming to open in time for Mummers festivities on New Years Day.
