A new community green space is coming to Point Breeze
Just in time for spring and summer, a new green space is being planned for Point Breeze.
The Urban Roots Collective has plans for a new green space at 20th and Wharton, behind the Design Movement home decor shop that opened in 2015.
Plans for this lot include the transformation of the space to serve as an urban garden and community space. This lot will also become a location to host outdoor events throughout the summer.
In order to transform this space, money is being raised for these improvements. The Pharmacy has been part of the Point Breeze community for more than two years now, bringing art, music and coffee to 18th and Wharton. On Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 13, they will be hosting fundraising events to raise money for this new community space for the neighborhood. 100% of the proceeds from the events will go towards garden supplies needed to transform this lot.
Once completed, the green space will host various events, including flea markets on Sundays. If you’re interested in attending the fundraising events, you can find out more here. For more information on volunteering or donating to the project, you can email PHARMland@pointbreeze.net.
