Italian Market Festival returns this weekend
Every year the Italian Market Festival brings huge crowds to 9th Street. This year will be no different.
Happening on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, the festival will bring you plenty of entertainment, along with food and drink from the country’s oldest outdoor market.
The festival will close down parts of 9th Street, from Fitzwater to Wharton. Throughout the Italian Market you’ll be able to enjoy a range of activities, including craft vendors, a wine and beer garden, a car show, family-friendly fun for kids, a pet-friendly area and more. You’ll also be able to view the annual procession of the saints and watch or participate in a half ball tournament.
Live music at the event will be from a variety of local musicians and DJs at different locations along 9th Street. There will be stages at Washington Avenue and Christian Street, a block party stage at Federal Street and another local music stage from Connie’s RicRac at Ellsworth Street.
This event runs from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. this weekend. The festival is happening rain or shine. You can find out more about the event here.
