Fundraiser being held for South Philadelphia Older Adult Center’s garden space

Outside of the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center at 1430 E. Passyunk Ave. is a volunteer-run garden that began in 2008.  

To keep the garden as a beautiful community space, a fundraiser is be held to raise money to help maintain the garden at the corner of East Passyunk Avenue and Dickinson Street.

This fundraising event will be held just across the street from the garden at the Pub on Passyunk East on Wednesday, June 8. The $25 ticket for the event will include grilled foods, hors d’oeuvres, deserts, drinks and more. In addition to the food and drinks from P.O.P.E., other complimentary food and drink items are from nearby businesses including Essen Bakery, Volta Market and Triangle Tavern. Since the event is happening during Philly Beer Week, you’ll also get a craft beer sampling from Victory Brewing Company and Sixpoint Brewery.

While the event will have plenty of food and drink options to enjoy, you’ll also be treated to live music from Blue Pharaohs, along with tours of the garden happening throughout the evening.
