South Broad Street getting median mural for DNC

The Democratic National Convention is a month away and the city is getting down to business with plans to spruce up the city for the event from July 25 through 28.

Among those improvements is a median mural that will brighten up part of South Broad Street.

The Mural Arts Program piece, titled, “14 Movements: A Symphony in Color and Words,” is designed by a Mat Tomezsko, a Tyler School of Art graduate. The design includes colorful stripes and patterns with words and other imagery throughout the 14 block span of Broad Street.

The mural will begin at City Hall and end at Washington Avenue, so at least the gateway into South Philly gets some color.

Does that mean that cars won’t be able to park in the median? Please let it be true

So, sadly, it won’t have an effect on parking in the middle of Broad in South Philly. 🙁
