Federal Pretzel Baking Company building on 7th Street to be demolished this week

Last fall we shared with you news about the plans for development of the former Federal Pretzel Baking Company building at 636 Federal St. The location had been shuttered years ago due to a fire.

More #neighborhood history being leveled for new construction. The old office entryway of the Federal Pretzel Baking Company at 7th & Federal is headed for demolition next week. The company was the first large-scale soft pretzel manufacturer in the US. Family-owned from 1922-2000. Now the plans for the location are continuing to move forward, with the demolition of the 7th Street office building for the company planned for this week.

The Federal Street side of the the former Federal Pretzel Baking Company is remaining, with that portion of the building set to become a laundromat. The 7th Street side, which is the portion of the building headed for demolition this week, will become two single-family homes.
