Oregon Avenue ACME now sells wine
You’ll no longer need to take a separate trip to the liquor store if you’re hoping to buy a bottle of wine getting your groceries at one South Philly supermarket. Now that PA law allows grocery stores to sell wine, a local ACME is getting in on the fun.
If you take a trip to the store at 19th and Oregon, you’ll be greeted by a selection of wines, in addition to the already-existing beer selection.
ACME Markets has introduced this new wine selection at nine of their grocery stores throughout the state. So far the 1901 Johnston St. store is the only South Philly location, but two other Philly-area stores are also selling wine. You can see list of the stores with this new selection here.
In other wine-related news, you can also grab bottles-to-go from Hawthornes.
