SBSNA hosting fundraising event for Broad Street Business Improvement District
In the spring, the South Broad Street Neighborhood Association hosted its first fundraising event to move forward with the proposal and planning for the creation of a Business Improvement District on Broad Street.
BIDs are meant to improve commercial corridors with added funding, bringing improvements, events and more to the area. To continue to raise money for the creation of a BID, SBSNA is hosting a second edition of BINGO! for a better Broad Street on Thursday, December 1.
For $25, you can attend the event, play three rounds of bingo and maybe even win some of the cash prizes up for grabs.
The BID is still in early planning stages, but if it would become a reality, businesses would be required to pay an annual fee to help fund the improvement zone for a cleaner, better Broad Street. Recently we were following the plans for an Italian Market BID, which ended up being voted down by business owners who were resistant to the proposed changes, including the annual fee to fund the BID.
If you’d like to support the creation of a BID for Broad Street, you can attend the event on Thursday, December 1, starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is being held at the Senior Care of Center City facility at 1165 S. Broad St. You are welcome to BYOB. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
