6th Annual Saint Pio Festival – today through Sunday
Your chance for a photo op with Super Bowl-winner Jason Kelce!
The 6th Annual Saint Pio Festival takes place today through Sunday May 20th at St. Pio Catholic Regional School, 1826 Pollock Street. The festival kicks off at 6pm and features Italian food and desserts, amusement rides, games, and carnival treats like cotton candy. On Sunday you’ll have a chance to meet the Eagle’s Jason Kelce and other stars including Jack Griffo, from the Nickelodeon series The Thundermans.
The event is a fundraiser for St. Pio School, located next to St. Richard of Chichester Church. Rev. Michael Reilly, Pastor of the church and administrator of the school, explained that “the festival started as a small event for our school families and the local community, but it’s grown each year. We come together to show support for continuing Catholic education in our area – and to have some fun.”
Festival organizer Janine Massi added, “This is our 6th annual festival. We’ve added new activities and entertainment each year to become bigger and better.” Massi said the festival attracts visitors from Delaware County, Center City, Northeast Philly, New Jersey and Delaware, “We raise money for our school and have a whole lot of fun doing it thanks to our board members, sponsors and volunteers!”
Two special guests will help the school raise additional funds. On Saturday, May 19th, Jack Griffo, who plays Max on The Thundermans, will participate in a photo op. Tickets are available here. On Sunday, May 19th, the Eagle’s Jason Kelce will appear at the festival from 6:30-8:00pm. Tickets are available for a photo shoot with Kelce here (sorry folks, no autographs).
