Pennsport food roundup: Lunch at Moonshine, Guerrilla wants you and Mekong al fresco
Here’s a look at some of the food happenings in Pennsport:
Way back in June of last year, Moonshine transformed the old East Side Moyamensing Saloon from local dive to Pennsport hot-spot. As of April 1st, Moonshine has started offering lunch seven days a week starting at noon. Lunch features their full menu with some daily specials. Their drink menu is also available during lunch hours, if you’re in a Mad Men type of mood
Want to work in an award-winning food truck? Good news – Guerrilla Ultima is looking to add an experienced cook to work alongside owner/lead guerrilla Robert Legget. While Guerrilla Ultima does travel around the city, you can usually find them posted up at 2nd and Morris most evenings as the “Guerrilla Kitchen at 2nd Street Brew House.” When you go, pray they have (and then order) The Pennsporter — for obvious reasons, although you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
We all love to eat some bangin’ food whilst seated outside of our favorite restaurant — it’s Philly’s favorite pastime. The Industry recently set up their outdoor seating and the aforementioned Moonshine has it as well. Now, let’s welcome Mekong River to the outdoor seating club. Next time you’re jonesin’ for an outdoor spot in Pennsport, check out Mekong River on Front and Titan — a stone’s throw from the soon-to-be-awesome Titan Park.

Pennsport is really coming around. I have to say, Industry is doing some pretty good things these days. Possibly one of the most underrated full service restaurants in the city.
The industry is awesome! The best burger in the city. I hope something good opens where brown chicken brown cow was. Perhaps a good coffee shop?
