New restaurant with liquor license coming to 3rd and Wharton

UPDATE: The place will be a beer garden and gourmet market called Pennsport Beer Boutique.

A liquor license has been posted to the former storefront of NeoGenesis Health Center, located at the intersection where Wharton Street crosses 3rd Street and Moyamensing Avenue.

The license lists “1301 Brunello, LLC” as the applicant in conjunction with an “eating place.” Neighbors report that workers were on the premises this weekend installing the ornamental trees, which look to be used for marking off an outdoor dining space.

Positioned across the street from Caffe Valentino, this building also houses Moylan Chiropractic which is owned by Dr. James Moylan, president of the Pennsport Civic Association. Moylan said his office will be uninterrupted by whatever is going in next door.

“My office will stay in the middle and back section where it has always been.  The section facing Wharton will be used for some version of a bar/restaurant,” he said in an email. “We are always excited about the prospect of new businesses to compliment our ever growing neighborhood.”
