Two cool events taking over Passyunk Ave on Sunday
The East Passyunk Craft Beer Day will come to eight Passyunk bars and restaurants on Sunday, the same day of the the Italian National Day Festival or La Festa Della Repubblica, which also coincides with the opening of the History of Italian Immigration museum we told you about last week.
The Craft Beer Day, part of the citywide Philly Beer Week, which starts tomorrow, will span 16 hours of specials, tap takeovers and other goodies. Uwishunu sums it up pretty well:
From an IPA tap takeover at Birra to beer-infused cupcakes at Ms. Goody Cupcake, top East Passyunk spots celebrate Philadelphia’s beer scene in a big way all day.
Of particular note, be sure to stop at Le Virtù for a sneak peek of chef Joe Cicala’s upcoming restaurant Brigantessa, expected to open at 1520 East Passyunk Avenue this summer. On Sunday, Chef Cicala previews a handful of items from the new restaurant’s menu, including wood-fired pizzas with assistance from the Pitruco Pizza Truck.
For the Italian festival, a block party will close off Passyunk from Broad to Moore for a day of music, vendors, games and more. Find the Facebook invite here. And you’ll get the first look at the new museum, which is opening on the first floor of the Filitalia International headquarters at 1834 E. Passyunk Ave.
Have fun!
Garage also offers Brunch every Sunday 11-4! So people can get some seriously tasty food to go along with that beer and Phillies.
