Palladino’s Steakhouse is expected to open next month
Palladino’s Steakhouse is set to open sometime in November at 1934 E. Passyunk Ave., according to Michael Klein at The Insider. A recent trip to Italy might provide a glimpse at what could be expected as far as wine selections go.
The Insider reports that chef Luke Palladino spent five years in Italy honing his craft and recently “met with the restaurant community [in Italy], including food purveyors and fishermen.”
Palladino operates two other restaurants in New Jersey and it’s quite possible that you could be enjoying the fruits of his labors from his jaunt to Italy. More from The Insider:
He also met with wine producers and distributors to collaborate on some additions to his wine program, most notably Enrico Fantasia, international wine broker and expert on Italian wines.
The upscale steakhouse will look to feature 80 seats and a full bar with craft cocktail and wine lists. Palladino also plans for another 40 seats outside and a large neon sign. Here’s what it is expected to look like, except that the sign has been changed:
Meanwhile, we’re going to check on the progress of the gateway project across the street at Broad, Passyunk and McKean. Work on that was supposed to have started already.
Great new businesses opening on the Avenue! Thought the new “gateway” would be done by now? Too bad, it’s looking pretty awful right now. Hopefully the restaurant can get it back on track.
