Get in the holiday spirit this Sunday with the EPX-mas Tour of Lights
There’s nothing like the East Passyunk area around the holidays.
While most people would simply check out S. 13th Street and call it a day, that’s not how we roll in South Philly. Christmas lights and spirit are simply everywhere: Up and down the Avenue, on nearly every house in the neighborhood, even the Singing Fountain gets topped with a tree. Come out and tour every nook and cranny of the neighborhood with the East Passyunk Crossing Civic Association’s EPX-mas Tour of Lights.
The festivities kick off on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. at Chayya Cafe 1823 E. Passyunk Ave. For a $5 donation, you’ll get a map of holiday hot spots, a glow stick and even a delicious snack and beverage. The tour culminates with caroling and more holiday cheer at the Singing Fountain around 8 p.m. You can donate online here.
Carols at the Fountain will be sung by the Philadelphia Gay Mens Chorus and popcorn will be handed out at that time as well.
As you can see from the flier, the tour will take you all around the neighborhood to see the holiday sights. EPX is also running a separate historic Christmas tour of East Passyunk Avenue guided by EPX co-chair Joseph F. Marino for an additional $10. Space is limited to 15 guests for the historic tour — so book now!
