New arts space coming to 1813 S. 11th St.
A new arts space called The Whole Shebang is opening at 1813 S. 11th St. on March 9.
The new space will offer art classes, workshops and studio rentals. The Whole Shebang plans to bring together a range of arts, including movement practices, herbalism and interdisciplinary arts.
The Whole Shebang plans to be a South Philly hub for creative and experimental arts. The facility is run by Meg Foley, a dance artist, and Carmichael Jones, a visual artist.
Classes that will be offered at the facility include barre fitness, anti-absolutist yoga, an African movement diaspora series, development movement and more. Classes cost $15, or $10 per session if you purchase a dancepass.
The facility also hopes to host international dance artists to teach and create in the space, in addition to doing performances 3-times a year.
If you’re interested on using the space, you can rent some studio space for $12 an hour, or $10 an hour if you book more than 25 hours in a month.
More information can be found on The Whole Shebang’s website.

Good lord this neighborhood is becoming Portlandia.
Are the South Philly Vikings moving out or sharing the building? Will this remain a polling place?
The South Philly Vikings are still at 1815 S 11th and to my understanding, they will continue to be a polling place.
What impact does a bike rack have on your life, honestly?
Relax cuz… It was a fake post by some no talent troll with no life. I can care less about bike racks there. And I can also care less if the Vikings stay there or not.
Because more cars would improve your quality of life? Nothing like circling around the neighborhood looking for a parking spot. Not to mention, people who ride bikes are generally more concerned with the level of trash lining the streets. I can’t tell you how often I see someone throw trash out their windows while driving in cars.
If you’re THAT worried about bike racks in that neighborhood, you have much bigger issues you’re ignoring.
Studio space a few blocks from my house! This is a win!
Fake ProvWitout post. I own you AnthonyG!
This is awesome. You can’t beat $12/hr studio space.
