Queen of Jeans art installation put up on fencing surrounding former King of Jeans building
Now that the King of Jeans building has been demolished and the sign has found a home at Provenance Salvage in Northern Liberties, street artist Kid Hazo and South Fellini art studio have collaborated on an art installation which parodies the original sign.
Instead of the King of Jeans, they have created the Queen of Jeans—allowing a woman to take reign over East Passyunk Avenue.
The installation is a vinyl sign posted on the fencing surrounding the hole that was once the King of Jeans.
While we won’t be seeing the Queen of Jeans building here, there will be a five-story building with a combination of retail, office space and apartments being built in place of the former King of Jeans building.
The Queen of Jeans sign won’t last here forever, but you can get yourself a t-shirt of it by South Fellini. You can also find more photos of the art installation on Streets Dept.
What do you think of this art installation? Pretty fun, eh?
