South Philly Beer Week events roundup
Philly Beer Week is back again for it’s 8th year with plenty of beery celebrations throughout the city.
For South Philadelphians, there are plenty of events happening throughout Beer Week, which runs from May 29 through June 7.
There’s so much happening throughout the week, so here’s a roundup of South Philly events happening on each day of Philly Beer Week.
Friday, May 29th:
There’s the Bella Vista Beer Bash at the Devil’s Den with rare and limited kegs and a Troegs Duck Hunter Tournament with giveaways and more from the Hershey-based brewery.
Saturday, May 30th:
You can enjoy a beer brunch with Trinity brewing at Devil’s Den and 4 Hands Brewing there later in the evening, New York-based breweries will be at For Pete’s Sake Pub, Sam Adams and Fair Trade coffee will be hosting a brunch at The Industry, Garage will be hosting an event dedicated to canned beers, and P.O.P.E. will host a backyard barbecue night with New Holland and Champion brewing.
If you’re looking to be more active on Saturday, you can join the Fishtown Beer Runners for a run from the Philadelphia Brewing Company to American Sardine Bar.
Also on Saturday is the Great Beer Expo happening at the Navy Yard with more than 75 breweries and 200 beers from local. Tickets for that large event are $75.
Sunday, May 31:
Events include the Hardywood Brunch happening at Devil’s Den, East Passyunk Avenue Craft Beer Day at various bars, Stogie Joe’s 3rd annual Rock the Block party, a Founder’s Dinner at South Philadelphia Tap Room and Weyerbacher at The Industry.
Monday, June 1:
The events on the first day of June will include the Deschutes Infusion Brunch at The Industry, a Crawfish Boil at For Pete’s Sake Pub, a Happy Hour with Nodding Head and Dogfish Head at American Sardine Bar, Hoppy Monday with Columbus Brewing at Devil’s Den, and Founders Night at P.O.P.E.
Tuesday, June 2:
Coronado Brewing will be at Devil’s Den, Troegs ‘n’ Tacos at For Pete’s Sake Pub, SixPoint Cuts the Cheese at American Sardine Bar, Brew Bus from Florida at Garage, a Brooklyn Brewery raffle at The Industry, Forest & Main for Taco Tuesday at the Tap Room on 19th, sports quizzo at P.O.P.E. with the Philadelphia Brewing Company, and Weyerbacher at the Devil’s Den.
Wednesday, June 3:
Today you can check out Local Pennsylvania beers being served up at Devil’s Den, For Pete’s Sake will be having a face-off between European and American-style beers, Bell’s BBQ at American Sardine Bar, Lagunitas at Garage, Crab Night with Deschutes and Captain Lawrence Brewing at P.O.P.E., and a DJ and Ommegang and Boulevard breweries at The Industry.
Thursday, June 4:
Troegs will be at Garage, Starr Hill Brewery will be at For Pete’s Sake Pub, Florida Beer Night at Devil’s Den, a Yards Brewing party at The Industry, a beer book signing with Bryan Kolesar at P.O.P.E., and a drag night with Left Hand Brewing at Tap Room on 19th.
Friday, June 5:
Celebrate the start of the weekend with these events: The Industry will be having a pig-roast with Founders and Port Brewing, Flavors of the Season at For Pete’s Sake Pub, IPA Day at Tap Room on 19th, Ballast Point from CA at Garage, Draai Log beers at Devil’s Den, and late night tacos with Firestone Walker at South Philly Tap Room.
Saturday, June 6:
Sour beers at Devil’s Den, a Saucony Creek brunch at P.O.P.E., brunch and tunes at The Industry, a Kick the Kegs event at For Pete’s Sake Pub with $4 drafts, Florida Breweries at Tap Room on 19th, Oskar Blues Rodeo at American Sardine Bar, a Two Roads food truck evening at Garage, and the Capt Lawrence vs Coppertail Raingutter Regatta at The Industry.
Sunday, June 7:
For the final day of Beer Week you can enjoy a Big Lebowski Brunch at P.O.P.E. with Terrapin Brewing, an Extreme Beer Brunch at South Philly Tap Room, a Good to the Last Drop event at Garage, Beers Your Dad Drank at Tap Room on 19th, and Two Brother’s Brewing at Devil’s Den.
As you can see, there are ample opportunities to enjoy some beers in South Philly this Beer Week.
