First Pics: 1st Ward Sandwich shop now open in Pennsport
Fourth and Cross isn’t the only new restaurant to open recently in Pennsport. Another new spot, called 1st Ward Sandwich, also opened in the neighborhood.
The sandwich shop, which we first told you about in April, officially opened on Wednesday, June 10 at Front and Morris.
Just as you might guess, 1st Ward sells a variety of sandwiches, including a total of 13 options ranging from Bahn Mi to their Oyster Po’Boy.
In addition to sandwiches, they also sell salads and sides including things like fries, hummus, orzo mac and cheese, chicken meatballs and lemon-friend cauliflower. Everything on the menu is $12 or under.
The establishment seats between 12 to 15 people inside, along with some extra outdoor seating.
Some of the artworks on the walls are by Philadelphia-based artist, Steve Silvasy. The artworks are also for sale.
1st Ward Sandwich is open 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. You can find out more about the shop on 1st Ward Sandwich’s website.
