First Pics: Philly Flavors ice cream shop now open at 1928 E. Passyunk Ave.
Philly Flavors opened over the weekend at 1928 E. Passyunk Ave., just in time for some of the hottest days of summer.
Last summer we heard about plans to open a new location of the Fairmount-based ice cream shop on East Passyunk Avenue, but it wasn’t until a month ago that we spotted the awning pop up on the location.
This new East Passyunk Avenue location is the fourth Philly Flavors location. They also have stores in Fairmount, Rittenhouse and in the Gayborhood.
The ice cream shop opened its doors for Fourth of July weekend, selling ice cream and various other frozen treats. The shop also sells drinks and soft pretzels. You can take a look at the menu for Philly Flavors here.
There’s no seating available here, so if you’re looking for a quick pit stop while strolling down the avenue, this could be the place.
Philly Flavors is open seven days a week. Hours are from Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. through midnight; and Sunday, 11 a.m. through 11 p.m.
Most importantly, as you can see from their pictures, they’ve changed their menu to say “water ice” instead of “Italian Ice” as their other locations do (or at least did): http://www.phillyflavors.com/images/web_menu.pdf.
It still says “Italian Ice” on the awning…
Stopped by last night. I really want this place to be successful, but they need to work on staffing. The line was out the door when we got there, there was a cashier and one guy filling all of the orders – it took at least 10 minutes to get two small cups of ice cream. Several people walked by, saw the line and kept going. Please hire more people!
I agree – my girlfriend and I walked out on Saturday night after waiting in like for 20 minutes. For some reason there is about 100 square feet of customer space and 1,000 square feet of ice cream preparing space for the two employees working there. It was loud, crowded, and slow. Definitely want to give it another shot and hope it improves.
