Rumor Mill: Is branch of Nodding Head brewery opening at 17th and Snyder?
No.
A user posing as developer John Longacre posted something on Reddit claiming that the Center City brew pub would be opening a location at the former Venice Plaza theater at 17th and Snyder.
The post drew more than two dozen comments, most from people excited by the prospect. But Longacre himself told us it’s not true.
He said he wasn’t ready to discuss what his final plans are for the project, which we told you about earlier this year. But he said he didn’t know where that came from and that Nodding Head will not be involved.
“I didn’t even know what Reddit was” until now, he said.
The fake post on Reddit included comments from this Longacre-poser saying things like, “The location was a difficult choice. Aside from the bar and dining area, we also needed sufficient floor space to accommodate the brewery. The location we chose is huge and will allow us to provide the highest quality experience.” While most of the Reddit commenters were excited, some also expressed suspicion about this Reddit-only announcement.
Nodding Head’s Twitter account also commented on this Reddit post:

While Nodding Head will not be opening here, Longacre has previously promised a “game-changer” in this 12,000 to 15,000 square foot space.
