First Pics: Meister’s Barbershop now open at 1810 E. Passyunk Ave.
Hip & Thrifty closed at 1810 E. Passyunk Ave. at the beginning of this year, leaving another prime location on the Avenue up for grabs.
Now Meister’s Barbershop has opened in the location, offering haircuts, shaves, beard trims and more.
Owner of the shop, Rob Baumiester, decided to open his first-ever shop in this location based on East Passyunk Avenue’s lack of a barber shop. Once he decided on this location, it was then a matter of transforming the space into what you see now.
Meister’s has a mix of old and new, with a bit of an industrial feel. The barber chairs are original chairs from the 1950’s. Another vintage addition to the location is the barber shop pole outside of the shop (if you have a barber shop, the pole is kind of a necessity, right?).
Baumiester is the main barber, though there are three other chairs for his other barbers that are in the shop on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which are expected to be the busier days for Meister’s.
No service at Meister’s Barbershop is over $30. They take both cash and credit. As of right now, the shop is only taking walk-ins.
If you’re looking to relax after your haircut, there are two couches in the shop and some seating in an outdoor space out back. 
Meister’s Barbershop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can keep up-to-date with Meister’s on their Instagram and Facebook pages.

Only $15 for a cut at Joe’s Barber Shop on 9th & Tasker. And he’s a *real* old-school barber.
