Learn grant writing skills at this upcoming workshop
Have you ever wondered how to get money to start a new program at your school?
Now’s the time to learn how at this Queen Village Neighborhood Association event on Thursday to teach you how to effectively write grant proposals.
Grants in the School District of Philadelphia are meant to help fund and foster new programs within the schools for projects like the greening of a schoolyard to make an edible and educational garden for students. That’s just one example of the many possibilities available through grants.
At this event on Thursday, you’ll be able to learn the necessary skills to bring new programming to your schools through these grants. Michael Sonkowsky of the Office of Grant Development at the School District of Philadelphia will be at the event to spread some knowledge and share community experiences.
In addition to learning a valuable skill, there will be some free pizza–so really, it’s a win-win situation.
The event is happening on Thursday, October 22 from 6 p.m. through 8 p.m. at the Weccacoe Playground Community Room. The entrance is between 4th and 5th Streets on Catharine Street. You can read more about available grants in the School District of Philadelphia here.
