First-ever national Skee-Ball league is launching Philadelphia division at Garage

Visits to the arcade as a child are nostalgic for many, so why not have some of that same childhood fun in a different, more adult setting?

Brewskee-Ball, a national league for Skee-Ball, is looking to revamp this childhood pastime into a competitive game for adults outside of the arcades you frequented as a kid. To kick-off their new Philadelphia league, they’ll be playing at East Passyunk Avenue’s arcade bar, Garage.

This competitive Skee-Ball league began in 2005 in New York City. Since then, they have expanded the competition to other cities including Brooklyn, San Francisco, Austin, Los Angeles and others. Philadelphia is the latest city to join in.

The league is launching at the end of this month with a party. The league games will then officially kicking off on Tuesday, March 8. The way Brewskee-Ball works is with an eight-week season of regular league games, plus extra weeks for play-off games. These Skee-Ball competitions are set to happen every Tuesday night.

You can either register as an individual or a team upfront, or pay to play on a weekly basis. For a team of three people, you can pay $300 for the eight regular season matches and any playoff matches that your team qualifies for. If you’re starting off registering unattached to a team, you can sign up for the season for $100. Not as committed to the league, but still want to compete on occasions? You can sign up on a pay-as-you-go basis with a $10 fee per person per week (not including the playoff matches).

The kick-off party is being held on Sunday, February 28 at Garage at 1231 E. Passyunk Ave., starting at 5 p.m. The league games will kick-off on Tuesday, March 8.
