A new community arts space called the Kind Institute opened on Point Breeze Avenue, bringing arts education to an area otherwise devoid of similar programs.
Since the business services the community with after-school arts programs for kids, nutrition and language classes for adults, a gallery and more, the Kind Institute is hosting a fundraiser to raise the necessary money for running these programs.
The event is being held on Saturday, March 19 at
Hydropose Studio’s location at 1903 S. Broad St. If you attend, you’ll have the chance to enjoy food from
Miss Rachel’s Pantry, along with live painting, an art show with Philadelphia-based artists, live music and more. The music entertainment is from Jazz and Other Soulful Sounds, a jazz production based in Point Breeze. The purpose of this event is not only to raise money for the Kind Institute, but to also to include other South Philly businesses.
The event runs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on March 19. The cost for entry is a $20 donation to the Kind Institute. You can purchase your ticket
here.
Can’t make it to the event but still want to check out the Kind Institute? You can visit their location at 1242 Point Breeze Ave. to view this month’s art gallery relating to Women’s History Month.
