Do you want a dog run at Dickinson Square Park? Attend this meeting to voice your opinion
A few months ago Dickinson Square West Civic Association released a survey asking the community if they would like to see a dog run installed at Pennsport’s Dickinson Square Park.
To this point in the process, the project has received general community support. Now a meeting is being held on Tuesday, May 17 to further present the pros and cons of a dog-specific area being created for the park and create an open dialogue amongst neighbors.
This dog run would be created to better preserve the beauty of the park and the safety of the children who play there. This designated area would allow owners to let their dogs off of a leash in a controlled portion of the community space. This would also help to eliminate dog waste in other portions of the park.

The data collected from the survey will be presented to the community and representatives from Parks and Recreation.
This meeting is being held at Mt. Moriah Church at 410 Wharton St. on Tuesday, May 17 at 8 p.m.

What happened to the plans of having a dog park along Broad St in front of the totally unused green space in front of South Philly High School?
No idea, but that area is not Dickinson Square West or Pennsport neighborhoods. You would need to check with that neighborhood’s civic association.
As Pennsport is 10 blocks long and this location is in the middle it seems like an accessible location and would serve Dickinson Square West also. Could be a win, win.
