Nick Elmi’s new restaurant next to Laurel to be named ITV, expected to open next month
Nick Elmi, the Top Chef winner behind East Passyunk Avenue’s Laurel, is getting ready to open a new restaurant next to his current hit dining spot.
Instead of simply making Laurel larger, this new location just next door at 1615 E. Passyunk Ave. will become a wine bar called ITV. The name was derived from his research of the name “Passyunk,” which is a Lenape Indian term that means, “in the valley.”
More from Philly.com:
Elmi and crew will prepare French-inspired American food – mostly appetizers such as crudo up to a few heartier plates. Nick says the ITV kitchen will have freer options to explore spicier cuisine.
Old World-style biodynamic wines will predominate on the 40-bottle list, which is expected to grow to 100. The six taps will include not only beer but cider as well as cocktails.
Expect to see ITV open sometime in July. The restaurant will not be accepting reservations. Hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
