Connie’s Ric Rac is expanding with more seating, fries and a new music space this summer
Connie’s Ric Rac has some big plans for the spot next door to their 10-year-old location at 1132 S. 9th St. in the Italian Market.
By July 30, this expanded space will open, adding a more intimate music space and a menu with french fries and similar items.
More from Eater:
Connie’s Kitchen will have a similar vibe to its next door sibling: “no frills” and casual, but the smaller venue means everything will be a little more intimate. The addition will feature a small, “sit-down stage” (fits 1-2 people) for lighter acoustic sets, as well as more guest seating and a french fry-focused menu. Chef Sean Mcmonagle, previously at Brick & Brew and Happy Rooster, was brought on as a consultant to help devise a bar-friendly menu. While it still has yet to be completely fleshed out, Bauman promises different types of fries and a variety of toppings sourced from vendors down the street.
This location has been empty for some time now, but these plans for the location aren’t new. Owner Ron Bauman has been planning this concept for years, as we’ve been telling you about since 2014. In addition to being storage for Connie’s, this location was most recently made into part of a set for a movie.
