Spotted: Dickinson Square West pothole filled with traffic cone still in it
Traffic cones are used for plenty of things in South Philly, as the PPD’s “no savesies” efforts during the winter months have shown. But have you ever seen a pothole being filled with a traffic cone still inside of it?
That’s what happened in Dickinson Square West, just across from Dr. Brian Kron’s Eye Center at 1414 S. 5th St.
From Fox29:
“They came out with three men and a driver and threw it in there with the pontoon still in the hole,” said Dr. Kron. “I came out and asked if they were going to do the job properly and they just laughed and drove away.”
“I contacted 3-1-1 to say a cone was in a pothole and it had been paved over and now the repair was sinking in,’ said Suzanne Flint.
Sadly, the Street Department does not care at all about the quality of their work. You can immediately tell the difference between a contracted job (7th street getting repaved) and a Streets Dept job (pouring asphalt into a sinkhole and calling it a day).
Typical nobody should be surprised about what comes from Philadelphia’s Street Department. It’s corrupt and lazy.
The Streets Department should identify who did this and fire them immediately. What trashbags.
