South Fellini to replace Eclectic Expressionism on East Passyunk Avenue
Do you remember the Queen of Jeans sign that was posted outside of the former King of Jeans location last year? How about the Toynbee tiles you might still spot around the city? South Fellini turns these things and more of your favorite Philly-isms into t-shirts, pins and more.
Instead of ordering these items through South Fellini’s online shop, you’ll soon be able to visit them at an East Passyunk Avenue storefront. The business will be taking over the former Pookah’s Hookah & BYOB, otherwise known as Eclectic Expressionism, location at 1507 E. Passyunk Ave.
Pookah’s Hookah & BYOB announced plans to close at the end of 2015, but owner Nicola Vittoria decided to keep the shop around for a while longer. At the beginning of September, the location will be switching over to Tony Trov and Johnny Zito for South Fellini.
The move-in date for the combination studio and shop is September 1 and they hope to be up-and-running in October. Expect to see a selection of the t-shirts, hoodies, pins and patches that they currently sell online. Thanks to some successful pop-up sales and the continued success of the business, Trov says, “the timing was just right” for them to open a storefront.
Hours for the store are still being determined. You can keep up with South Fellini on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
If you’re looking to grab a cheap hookah, or other miscellaneous items, you can still swing by Eclectic Expressionism for some sales.
Great use of an underperforming location.
Ditto. Thank god that crappy head-shop will finally be gone. Now if only the vape store/fortune teller place would move out.
I’m excited to hear this! I love South Fellini’s stuff and this will be a much better use of that space!
I wish it was still operated by the “massage” girls
South Fellini’s shit is tight!!
