Two new PWD rain gardens are coming to Point Breeze
Green City, Clean Waters has been bringing green infrastructure improvements to the city, with new rain gardens in the form of planters and trenches with trees, along with some less-visible improvements below-ground. The city’s plan is for the program is to triple in size by 2021 to keep making Philadelphia a greener city.
Point Breeze will soon be seeing more rain gardens, one at 1701 S. Ringgold St. and another at 1900 Point Breeze Ave. thanks to Green City, Clean Waters. On Tuesday, October 18, the Philadelphia Water Department will be giving the neighborhood the opportunity to learn more about the improvements coming to these two lots.
The event will begin at the Ringgold Street lot at 5 p.m. After half an hour at this location, the walk to the Point Breeze Avenue location will begin. The presentation for the second location will begin at 5:45.
In addition to learning about the plans for these gardens, the event will allow the community to give feedback on the plans for the two lots.
