Coming Soon: Hale and True Cidery and Tasting Room
The wife and husband team have been around since 2015, but have only recently made the big commitment in Bella Vista.
What started out as an experimental hobby in their Old City apartment has blossomed into a full-on love affair with the cider craft. Hale and True co-founders Risa Zeller McKenzie and Kerry McKenzie earned certifications from the Cider and Perry Academy in 2016.
“We want to make better cider the standard,” said Kerry. “Along with other craft cider makers, we’re setting out to change cider’s reputation as a drink that’s too sweet or tastes like apple juice. We’ll make a few different varieties of cider, from traditional to dry hopped and fresh fruit infusions, with all of them tasting very dry to off dry. The range of possibilities with cider is endless, and that’s what makes it so much fun.”
Hale and True plan to have their cidery and tasting room open by years end; located on the ground floor at 613 South 7th Street. In the meantime, stay tuned for area tastings and collaborations (and follow them on Instagram).
