Friday, 6/15/18
- 10 a.m. Special Pre-K Events, Charles Santore Library 932 South 7th Street (7th & Carpenter Sts.). Every Friday the Santore branch presents a different Pre-K program.
- 2:30 p.m. Family Flicks | Coco, Fumo Family Library, 2437 South Broad Street. Each Friday (except the second Friday of the month) the Fumo branch shows a different family-friendly film . Popcorn is provided, please bring your own beverage.
- 2 p.m. The Italian Market Project, is a 90-minute interactive adventure for audiences of eight to 10 people. Learn about the past, present and future of the Market while enjoying snacks, beverages and puzzles. Five shows a weekend through July 1. Find more information here.
- 7 p.m. Music at Cianfrani Park, 8th & Fitzwater streets, every Friday night, weather permitting. This week Magdaliz and Her Latin Ensemble CRISOL perform.
Saturday, 6/16/18
- 9 a.m. Illegal Signs Roundup. 17th and Manton Streets. Help neighbors take down and collect illegal “bandit” signs. For every sign collected, the City will donate 50 cents (up to 500 signs) to the East Point Breeze Neighbors civic group.
- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Capitolo Flea Market and Live paint event. Capitolo Playground, 9th and Federal. Rain date: 6/23. Proceeds benefit the park/playground.
- 10 a.m. World Cup Kickoff party and match viewing in Bardascino Park. Calling all soccer fans! Join the party on the 16th and return to watch matches with fellow fans on a big screen in the park every weekend. Free.
- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Community Gardens Day. More than 60 community gardens around the city will be open to visitors. Gardeners will be on hand to provide tours, answer questions and provide gardening tips. A number of South Philly gardens will be open, check out the map here.

- 12:30 p.m. Mindfulness Meditation | Chair Yoga. Fumo Family Library, 2437 South Broad Street. Ground your mind and body with Mindfulness Meditation and Chair Yoga. Spend a peaceful half-hour with a guided meditation. Chair yoga is a twist on traditional yoga, making it accessible for any age. This program is for adults. Newcomers please attend the 12:30 p.m. class. The 2:00 p.m. Chair Yoga class is filled.
- 6:30 p.m. Spinning Yarns. Fumo Family Library, 2437 South Broad Street.For those who knit and crochet, bring your latest project and enjoy a relaxing, low-key evening of crafting at the library. All fiber arts are welcome. This program is intended for adults.
- 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. ESL Conversation Group. Charles Santore Library 932 South 7th Street (7th & Carpenter Sts.). This group is a great way to practice speaking everyday English. ALL are welcome.
Tuesday, 6/19/18
- 10 a.m. Toddler Storytime. Fumo Family Library, 2437 South Broad Street. Join us for stories, songs, and activities, with time to socialize and play with the library’s toys after storytime! These programs are intended for children three years old and younger, accompanied by a caregiver.
- 7 pm. KidFest: Bike Parade. Mario Lanza Park hosts KidsFest on four consecutive Tuesdays in June at the park, 235 Queen Street. (mid-200 block between Catharine and Queen streets). This week: decorate your bike, scooter, or just wear your wheels. Free.
Thursday, 6/21/18
- 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Barks on Tap at Mario Lanza Park this dog-friendly traveling beer garden comes to Mario Lanza Park (mid-200 block between Catharine and Queen streets).. Proceeds will benefit Queen Village Neighborhood Association (QVK9).7 p.m.
- The 1940s Cabaret at Bardascino Park, presented by Rev Theatre Company. A happy, heady hit parade of musical nostalgia aimed straight for your heart, based on the 1940’s sensational song stylings and best-selling recordings of Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters, and featuring such enduring, endearing classics as Bei Mir Bist Du Schon, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Mairzy Doats and Accent-Chu-Ate The Positive. All summer long
- Tuesday – Sunday. Visit the Pippi Longstocking Gallery at the American Swedish Historical Museum to introduce you child to the beloved children’s book character. This dedicated gallery brings to life the whimsical world of iconic Swedish author Astrid Lindgren with exhibits and a museum scavenger hunt. The museum is located in FDR Park, at Broad and Pattison Ave.
- Tuesdays, 5:30 pm. Woofstock Concert Series at Seger Park, 10th and Lombard streets. Weekly concert series welcomes dog owners and community members alike. Enjoy live music and dinner and drinks from local food trucks. Through August 28. Hosted by the members of Seger Dog Park.
- Wednesdays, 3 pm to 7 pm. Fountain Farmer’s Market at the “Singing Fountain,” East Passyunk Avenue at Tasker. Hosted by Farm to City, this market offers a variety of locally-grown, fresh produce every week.
