Rent this Pennsport home for the bargain basement price of $5000 for the Pope’s visit

It’s pretty reasonable to consider renting out your home for the upcoming Papal visit to Philadelphia, but this Pennsport homeowner might have succumb to a bit of wishful thinking.

According to the listing, this property can “sleep up to 8 people.” You can check out the Craigslist listing here.

While that’s certainly one pricy, not-overly-accessible place to stay for the events that weekend, there are still other listings with pretty crazy pricing around. This seemingly unfurnished “Passyunk Ave” (it’s actually located farther south) home on Airbnb is asking for a whopping $4000 a night.

In between the crazy prices, there are still a lot of more reasonably priced places up for grabs for people making their way into the city for the World Meeting of Families.

    People have asked if I was planning to rent the spare room for the visit. I’m not, especially after hearing about the people who rented my neighbor’s house for a weekend this summer and left it filthy & damaged.
