Donate school supplies to these back to school supply drives
As the school year begins for youngsters all around Philly, that means it’s time for back to school shopping.
That also means it’s time for back to school supply drives to help support South Philly schools.
If you’re interested in donating school supplies of any kind, you can drop off them in donation boxes at Acme and the firehouse at 12th and Reed to support Kirkbride and Jackson elementary schools.
There is also a supply drive for Stanton Elementary and Chester A. Arthur School. While the schools in this drive are looking specifically to reach a goal of 20,000 donated pencils and 2,000 reams of paper, they will also accept other donations. To donate to the initiative of these schools, you can donate supplies to the SOSNA offices at 1901 Christian Street, to the Kids’ edition of the Triangle Summer Music Series on August 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., or order from the schools’ Amazon wish lists. You can find out more info here.
Know of any other school supply drives in South Philly? Let us know and we’ll add them to the list.
Friends of Jackson and Friends of Kirkbride Elementary are collecting supplies at Acme at 10th and Reed through September 2.
