Newbold Civic Association to join forces with neighborhood Community Development Corporation

Instead of being two separate entities, Newbold Civic Association and Newbold Community Development Corporation now have plans to reorganize as one organization to better serve the community.

The CDC currently services the area from Tasker to Wolf and Broad to 18th. Now that the two organizations are joining together, they will continue to work towards bettering the community through business development, greening efforts and more community-oriented events and initiatives.

To start the reorganization process for these two neighborhood organizations, they’re seeking volunteers in the area to join the committees to better service Newbold.

They’re seeking volunteers for:

• Zoning
• Outreach/Communications
• Events/Social
• Clean and Green
• Guerin Liaisons

These organizations are responsible for things like the plans for a green space at Guerin Rec Center and the first-ever South Philly Sausage Fest.

Want to know more about the restructuring of these organizations? More information will be presented at a meeting on Monday, February 29 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at Guerin Rec Center at 2201 S. 16th St. You can find the event page here.
