South Street hosting annual spring festival on Saturday
South Street will be hosting a day of food, music and other activities at an all-ages block party on Saturday, May 7.
The annual Spring Festival will combine the shopping and activities of the commercial corridor with other entertainment you may not see there everyday at this rain-or-shine event.
There are a total of three stages that will be set up at the festival for music. The event will include more than 40 local musicians performing throughout the day. There will also be a sideshow stage that will include a different kind of entertainment. Among the activities happening throughout the day at the sideshow stage is a Philly taco eating contest. This means eating a slice of Lorenzo’s pizza wrapped around a Jim’s cheesesteak as fast as you possibly can for the chance to win a year’s worth of cheesesteaks and pizza.
Brauhaus Schmidtz will also be hosting the annual Maifest with plenty of German beer, dancing and more.
Are you planning on bringing the kids to the event? The 200 block of South Street is designated as a kids zone, with crafts, music and activities for the young ones.
This event is free to the public. The event is being held rain or shine. Find out more about the event here.
