Earlier this week it was announced by State Rep. Michael O’Brien that the district, which covers South Street and Fabric Row, would receive the grant money.

According to Philly Voice, the funds will be used to improve these things:

• Narrowed driving lanes to calm traffic/enhance pedestrian safety

• Wider walking paths

• Realigned crosswalks

• Speed bumps

• Pedestrian-level lights

• Directional signs
