Join the Bicycle Coalition for a holiday lights ride through South Philly

This Thursday, December 15, you’ll have the chance to join the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia for a holiday lights bike ride.

Since parts of South Philly go all-out with decorations for Christmas, the group ride will take a seven-mile tour of the best there is in our neighborhoods.

The event will begin at Performance Bicycles at the Riverview Plaza, with groups leaving between 5:15 and 6 p.m., and will continue to tour through the best lights, until eventually ending at Garage for some celebrations.

Costumes and bike decorations are encouraged, but not necessary. Pimp your bike, wear some tinsel, make your bike a reindeer with some antlers, anything festive goes.  If you decide to dress up, you’ll have the chance to win a pretty nice bike storage rack for your home if you have the “best spirited costume.”

The event is free, but if you pay $5, you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a Giant-brand bike. You can find out more about the event and RSVP here.
