Restaurant from South Philly Tap Room chef in the works on Fabric Row
A new restaurant from the chef of South Philly Tap Room and American Sardine Bar is coming to 743 S. 4th St.
In December we first spotted a liquor license on the location, registered to WT Restaurant Holdings, LLC, and it turns out, chef Scott Scrhroeder’s name is listed as one of the owners.
Schroder told us it’s too early to dish on the details, and he has been meeting with neighbors to assuage any concerns. The permit for the location just says it will be a “sit down restaurant on the first floor.”
We do know that SPTR and ASB owner John Longacre is not involved with this one.
Jack B. Fabrics most recently occupied the location before moving back to their old spot at 748 S. 4th St., which had been destroyed in a fire in April 2013.
After a period of decline, Fabric Row seems to be taking a turn for the better. In 2014, streetscape improvements were proposed for the street. If all goes as planned, Fabric Row could be entering a time of change.
UPDATE: Eater Philly has some info on the other name on the license, Patrick O’Malley, a pastry chef for Keith McNally’s Balthazar Bakery. Check out that post here.
