RACSO Fine Arts opening at 1935 E. Passyunk Ave.

UPDATE: This post now includes a tentative opening date

The cool-looking corner building at 1935 E. Passyunk Ave. is getting a new tenant, the RACSO Fine Arts gallery.

The gallery was formerly located on Walnut St. and is moving its collection of artworks from contemporary Latin-American artists to E. Passyunk Ave.

RACSO focuses on Latin-American artists, but mostly on Colombian-born artist Orlando Agudelo-Botero. The gallery possesses the largest and most diverse collection of his artworks.

RACSO focuses on the works by Colombian-born artist Orlando Agudelo-Botero, Dutch-Colombian photographer Gertjan Bartelsman, Colombian artists Marialucia Diaz, Pedro Ruiz and Miguel Antonio Horn, a Philadelphia-based artist and sculptor. RACSO enjoys the privilege of having access to the largest and most varied contemporary art inventory of these prominent artists.

One of the artists with works on display in the gallery, Miguel Antonio Horn, just moved to the area and will be teaching classes at Fleisher Art Memorial.

Mesh Vintage was originally set to open in this location, but instead opened up shop across the street at 1926 E. Passyunk Ave. Before that, the location housed Platinum Event Services.

RACSO hopes to be able to open by the weekend of March 20. Gallery hours will be from 3 p.m. through 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 12 p.m through 9 p.m. on Saturdays and 12 p.m. through 6 p.m. on Sundays.
