Update on Mt. Sinai demolition
In October, the demolition of Mt. Sinai at 4th and Reed began. Almost four months later, the majority of the structure still stands.
So what’s the latest on the demolition of this massive former hospital?
To this point, the removal of asbestos has been completed. Demolition is happening on the “newer” portion of the facility. The Concordia Group told the Dickinson Square West Civic Association that this part of the demolition will then be completed by the end of February, which is when the larger, original structure will begin to come down.
The latest plans for the development that will be replacing Mt. Sinai includes 95 townhomes with a sizable courtyard in the center of the homes. The most recent version of plans we have for Mt. Sinai are from March, prior to the Concorida Group receiving feedback from the Civic Design Review in early August.
