Get a preview of the future of Carpenter Green at a backyard BBQ event
Carpenter Green has been a work-in-progress at 17th and Carpenter for years now. Phase I was completed in the fall of 2015, and the rest of the project is expected to be completed in 2017 once funding is completely secured.
While it will still be a while until Carpenter Green becomes a full fledged community space, you’ll have a chance to get a preview of the park with a backyard BBQ event that will be held there in June.
Food and beverages will be served at the event, including burgers, hotdogs, beer and other goodies. This event will have plenty of activities for the whole family. Sprinklers will be set up for the kids, in addition to games of bocce, badminton and corn hole.
Donations for food and drink are appreciated. All proceeds from the event will go towards the implementation of Phase 2, which will then complete the park. If you’re interested in donating, you can check out the Giving Grid created for fundraising.
The event is happening on Saturday, June 18 from 1 p.m. through 4 p.m. You can keep up-to-date with the event on Facebook.
